Position Summary

To perform cardiopulmonary and neurological diagnostic studies and provide pulmonary therapeutic modalities for inpatients and outpatients at Williamson Health.

Position Requirements

Formal Education / Training
  1. Earned a Cardio Respiratory Care diploma or degree; RRT certification required.
  2. Registered/Certified by the NBRC or at least 1 year of Respiratory Care experience.
  3. Tennessee State license with ABG endorsement.
  4. NRP, PALS, ACLS certifications within 6 months of hire.
  5. BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Network Computer System, Blood Gas Machine, Pulse Oximetry, IPPB Machine, Ventilators (Adult, Pediatric, Infant), EKG Machine, Holter Monitor, CPAP/BiPAP, PFT Machines, Bronchoscope, Infant Intubation, Meditech OE System.


Physical Environment

Office and clinical areas related to Respiratory Therapy.


Physical Effort
  1. Communicates effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
  2. Able to stand and walk up to twelve hours daily.
  3. Able to lift up to 250 lbs with assistance.

Performance Standards
  1. Conducts comprehensive patient assessments using observation, communication, and examination skills, including input from patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  2. Develops individualized care plans, identifying problems, standards of care, interventions, and expected outcomes.
  3. Administers and documents medications and responses accurately, reporting abnormal or critical findings per policy.
  4. Reassesses patients, evaluates responses, communicates with the care team, and adjusts care plans as needed.
  5. Provides patient education, discharge planning, and post-discharge support.
  6. Works independently with treatments and equipment, adhering to policies and competency assessments.
  7. Maintains a therapeutic environment for patients and families.
  8. Monitors and maintains equipment and supplies, ensuring proper functioning and stock levels.
  9. Initiates and manages adjunct airways, documenting changes accurately.
  10. Supports staff development, including orientation and training, and accepts leadership responsibilities.
  11. Participates in departmental education and communication programs.
  12. Maintains current position-specific qualifications.
