Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Arlington, TX seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join the Respiratory Care Department. You will perform adult and neonatal ICU procedures, assess patients, and document care in compliance with regulatory guidelines.

The ideal candidate has an AMA‑approved respiratory program, current BCLS, and ICU experience; CLIAFE foreign education compliance may apply. This PRN night shift offers a collaborative, growth‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program
• CLIAFE compliance with CLIA regulations for foreign education equivalency
• 1 year med/surg or critical care experience preferred
• Adult and Neonatal ICU experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Obtains/verifies physician orders for therapy and validates appropriateness
• Reviews medical records and gathers pertinent medical history
• Performs therapy within the scope of the professional license
• Documents treatment sessions per departmental and regulatory guidelines
• Participates in orientation and training of students and new staff

Work location: Texas Health Arlington Memorial: 800 W. Randol Mill Road Arlington, TX 76012

Work hours: PRN Nights; 3 shifts within a 6-week schedule, one being a weekend shift

Here’s What You Need

Education

• Other Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required
• Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required

Experience

• 1 year med/surg or critical care experience preferred
• Adult and Neonatal ICU experience strongly preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner upon hire required And
• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist upon hire required And
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required And
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire preferred And
• NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program NRP required if working in the NICU 90 days required

What You Will Do

Patient Assessment/Plan of Care

• Obtains/verifies physician order for therapy and validate for appropriateness.
• Reviews available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from patient or family.

Patient Treatment

• Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
• Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license.

Documentation

• Documents verification of physician orders prior to delivery of care.
• Documents aspects of each treatment session in accordance with departmental, JCAHO, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.

Professional Accountability

• Utilizes available resources (equipment, support personnel, educational resources) to maximize efficiency and productivity and meet departmental needs.
• Participates in orientation and training of students and new employees.
