Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Dallas is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the Respiratory Care department. This PRN, night-shift role involves evaluating patients, applying therapy interventions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.

The position requires an AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program, RCP and RRT credentials on hire, and current BCLS/ACLS (ICU/ED) with NRP if NICU involved. Eligible for benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program completion is required.
  • RN/RT credentials or equivalents recognized upon hire.
  • Licensure requirements must be current and active.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients using age-appropriate assessments and protocols.
  • Apply physician-directed care and document interventions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Perform therapy techniques within license scope and maintain competency.

PRN ( As Needed ); Nights; rotating weekends

Here’s What You Need
  • Other Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required
  • Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • 1 Year Med/Surg Or Critical Care Experience Preferred
  • RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner upon hire required and
  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist upon hire required and
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support ICU and Emergency Department only 90 Days required and
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program NRP required if working in the NICU 90 Days required
What You Will Do
  • Good verbal communications, good interpersonal skills, and computer experience
  • Review available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from the patient or family.
  • Evaluates each patient using age and diagnosis-appropriate assessment tests and measurements.
  • Applies appropriate patient care interventions according to protocol guidelines and priority of care.
  • Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age-specific needs.
  • Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient's age and desire for treatment.
  • Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license.
