Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care to in-patients and out-patients across neonatal to geriatric ages. The role includes oxygen therapy, arterial blood gas analysis, and ventilation support under physician orders and established procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree is required.
• Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice; NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides care appropriate to the age of patient served in the assigned area.
• Adapts communication to the patient population and maintains privacy.
• Other related duties as required.
