Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with breathing disorders.
• Administer respiratory therapies.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Monitor and manage mechanical ventilators for patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatments.
• Provide patient education on breathing techniques, medications, and lifestyle changes.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient assessments, treatments, and progress documentation.

Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Responsibilities

• Assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with breathing disorders
• Administering respiratory therapies
• Performing and interpreting diagnostic tests
• Monitoring and managing mechanical ventilators for patients who require respiratory support
• Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Providing patient education and support on proper breathing techniques, medication usage, and lifestyle changes
• Maintaining accurate and complete patient assessments, treatments, and progress documentation

Registered Respiratory Therapist Education & Credential Requirements
