Baptist Health in St. Augustine is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for our Free Standing Emergency Department. This full-time night-shift role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with respiratory disorders, operating ventilators, and providing patient education.

You will collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective care. The ideal candidate will have RRT certification (FL DOH), ACLS/PALS/BLS within 6 months, and an AS degree or higher;

Qualifications

• Certificate required.
• Associate of Science preferred.
• RRT required - FL DOH.
• Within 6 months of hire: ACLS.
• Within 6 months of hire: PALS.
• Within 6 months of hire: BLS.
• Experience in Pediatrics and Neonatal care.
• Licensure: CRT - NBRC; RRT - NBRC.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with breathing disorders.

This role involves administering respiratory therapy treatments, performing diagnostic pulmonary function tests, managing and monitoring mechanical ventilators, and providing patient education and respiratory care support. The Respiratory Therapist collaborates with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.

Respiratory Therapist Job Responsibilities:

• Assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with breathing disorders
• Administering respiratory therapies
• Performing and interpreting diagnostic tests
• Monitoring and managing mechanical ventilators for patients who require respiratory support
• Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Providing patient education and support on proper breathing techniques, medication usage, and lifestyle changes
• Maintaining accurate and complete patient assessments, treatments, and progress documentation
