Job summary

Mercy is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Care Practitioner to perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory therapy, follow physician orders, consult on therapy effectiveness, and serve as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff. Requirements include graduation from a CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program, a current RCP license, and NBRC RRT credential.

PALS may be required for ER team members; ACLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care as ordered by physicians.
• Consult physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Act as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care.
• Perform duties as assigned.

Position Details:

QualificationsEducation: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.Experience: None.Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices. Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Preferred Licensure: Preferred Experience: Prefer critical care experience.Preferred Certifications: Preferred Other:
