Job summary

Saint Mary's Health Network in Reno, NV is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner II to provide respiratory therapy and pulmonary diagnostics under medical direction. The role emphasizes assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of patient care with attention to age-specific needs.

Qualified candidates will hold an active Nevada RCP license and NBRC credential, BLS and ACLS on hire, and prefer PALS; we value experience in acute care and may assign lead duties on the shift.

Qualifications

• State RCP license required.
• NBRC-registered RRT or obtain within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• ACLS certification required upon hire.
• Blood Gas Technologist license in Nevada within 90 days of hire.
• PALS certification preferred.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification preferred.
• Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
• Two years acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Assess, plan, implement, and document patient care with age/population considerations.
• May serve as Lead RCP and supervise the section during a shift.

Responsibilities

Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director or manager, the Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the ordering provider. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient. May on occasion be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.


• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.


• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.


• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.


• Blood Gas Technologist Licensed by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services within 90 days of hire.


• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification preferred.


• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred.


• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.


• Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.
