Job summary

Saint Mary’s Health Network in Reno, NV, seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner II to join an award-winning team dedicated to quality and compassion. You will perform respiratory therapy and pulmonary diagnostics per physician orders, focusing on patient assessment, planning, implementation and documentation with age-specific considerations.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required or to be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required or obtained upon hire and maintained.
• PALS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certifications preferred.
• Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
• Two years of acute care experience preferred.

• Focus on assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care with age-specific considerations.
• May act as Lead RCP and oversee the section/department during a shift.

Responsibilities

Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director or manager, the Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the ordering provider. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient. May on occasion be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
• Blood Gas Technologist Licensed by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services within 90 days of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification preferred.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.
