Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Care Professional to provide direct patient care in accordance with physician orders. The role includes consulting with physicians on therapy effectiveness and serving as an advanced resource for the care team.

Candidates should hold a CoArc approved Respiratory Care program graduate credential, be licensed as an RCP, and possess an NBRC RRT credential. PALS is required for ER staff; ACLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license as per state requirements.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by NBRC.
• PALS required for ER team members.
• ACLS preferred.
• No prior experience required.
• Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, pulling and pushing, kneeling and crawling as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physician orders.
• Consult physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Act as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing staff on respiratory care.
• Perform duties as assigned.
