Job summary

Indiana University Health in Tipton, IN, seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide cardiopulmonary care and patient advocacy. The RT will collaborate with nurses, clinicians, and specialists to ensure high-quality care and participate in bedside rounds to support patient outcomes.

Onsite position with a schedule that includes weekday shifts and weekend coverage; candidates must hold IN licensure and NBRC credentials, with opportunities for professional growth and education.

Qualifications

• Licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner in Indiana.
• Graduate of CoARC-accredited respiratory care program.
• NBRC registry exam must be passed within 6 months of hire (6-month rule).

Responsibilities

About This Position:

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 5a-5:30p
• Friday 24hr call shift
• Sign On Bonus of $30,000 to Eligible External Candidates
• Relocation Bonus of up to $10,000 available to Eligible External Candidates based on their location
• Every 3rd weekend 48hr call shift
• Participate in bedside rounds & be a patient advocate

• Location: Tipton Hospital

Our Respiratory Therapists (RT) work closely with our patients to evaluate and treat patients with cardiopulmonary disorders ranging in modalities and demographics. We are also responsible for collaborating with various different entities in the hospital setting including nurses, Advanced Respiratory Therapists, and Clinical Specialists to ensure total customer happiness and support.
Requirements:

• Requires current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the state of Indiana.
• Requires graduation from a CoARC (Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) and regionally accredited respiratory care program.
• Requires that the N.B.R.C. (National Board for Respiratory Care) registry exam be passed within 6 months of hire date. The 6-month requirement for the RRT is void if hire date is one year past graduation date.
• Requires Healthcare Provider Certification. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Preferred ACLS; PALS; and/or NRP certification.
• Requires strong customer service skills.
• Requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Requires the ability to deal with confidential patient information.
• Requires basic computer skills and ability to work with EMR.
