Overview

Respiratory Therapist - Advanced Practice, Night/Day Shifts

Facility details and assignment information are described below. The role involves working with adult patients (>18 years) in ICU and PCU settings. Travelers may have their own ICU assignment but will assist with treatments and tasks alongside other staff RTs. Assignment includes a 16-22 treatment floor allocation and will not go to the ED.

Responsibilities

• BiPAP: V60 & Servo
• Cough Assist
• MetaNeb & IPV
• TC monitoring
• Bronchodilator medications
• Specialty Gases: Nitric Oxide, Heliox
• ABG (Gem 5000) draw/analysis
• Assist with intubation, wean/extubate, vent management, bipap, cpap, nebulizers
• Vents: Servo-U, Servo-I, Hamilton
• Nitrous Oxide System: Noxbox
• Bipap/CPAP: V60s
• High Flow O2: Optiflow

Qualifications

• BLS, RRT or CRT
• ICU experience
• ABG (Gem 5000) draw/analysis
• EPIC experience (mandatory; assess recency)

Support on the Unit

• RT: 24/7
• Hospitalist: 24/7
• Team Lead and Charge on night shift
• EMR: EPIC – mandatory; verify recency of experience

Floating

• Throughout the hospital

Orientation

• One 12h day orientation on dayshift
• Schedule is 4 weeks at a time
• Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
