Ascension Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join the Cardiac Rehab team at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola in Destin, FL. The role involves evaluating respiratory patients, administering advanced care, and collaborating with the emergency team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

You will monitor patient status, assess treatment effectiveness, and educate families about respiratory health while connecting them to community resources. Full-time, rotating schedule in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Respiratory Therapist credential from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care is required.
• Education: HS diploma with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable experience.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Evaluate patients with respiratory insufficiencies to determine the appropriate type and frequency of treatments, developing a customized plan of care based on their specific diagnosis.

• Administer advanced respiratory care modalities, manage specialized equipment, and respond rapidly as a member of the emergency resuscitation code team.

• Continuous monitor, record, and communicate changes in patient condition; evaluate the effectiveness of practices, medications, and treatments based on patient outcomes.

• Educate patients and their families regarding their respiratory health conditions, while connecting them with community support groups and available care programs.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hiredate or job transfer date required.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
