Job summary

Ascension's Middleburg hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the night shift, full-time role. You will implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment, and respond to emergency resuscitation situations end-to-end.

The position requires Florida-registered RT credentials, BLS within 30 days, and ALS/SSS support preferred. The hospital offers strong benefits and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition. Performs advanced respiratory care modalities.
• Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
• Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs.
• Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
