Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). The RRT performs diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care including ventilator management, airway procedures, and monitoring in an acute care setting. Requires NBRC RRT, state RCP license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and a preference for neonatal resuscitation and higher degrees. Full-time, days.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential or within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC on hire and maintain.
• ACLS certification from AHA or ARC on hire and maintain.
• PALS certification from AHA or ARC on hire and maintain or within 60 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification preferred.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• Two years of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications.
• Perform pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analyses.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and life-support equipment.
• Contribute to rapid response emergencies, including airway management and resuscitation.
• Assess respiratory status and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Ensure respiratory equipment is properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained.

Location: St. Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO.

We are seeking aRegisteredRespiratory Therapist,internallyreferred to as ourRRT.The RRT can be referred to as aRespiratory Care Practitioner(RCP II) but someone whocarries out respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as directed by the medical and cardiopulmonary directors, based on physician orders. They focus on assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care while considering the specific needs of patients based on age and population; in the absence of a supervisor, they may be designated as the Lead RCP, overseeing the department during their shift.

Responsibilities

• Willprovide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily

• Conduct tests like pulmonary function testsandarterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients

• Set up,monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently

• May bepartofarapid response team in emergencies,which you willprovideairway management, perform intubations, and resuscitatepatients in critical situations

• Assess patients' respiratory status,monitortheir progress, andmake adjustments totreatment plans as needed

• Ensure that all respiratory equipment isproperly cleaned, sterilized, andmaintainedto prevent infections and ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.

• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred.

• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.

• Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.
