Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services is seeking a Respiratory Therapist at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. This per diem (PD/PRN) role features day shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm with 12-hour shifts and a strong emphasis on patient respiratory care.

Internally titled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), you will assist patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, operate ventilators, and participate in emergency airway management as needed.

Qualifications

• State RCP license required.
• NBRC RRT certification required.
• BLS (AHA) certification current.
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS within 60 days of hire.
• Associate or BS degree preferred; high school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Provide inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily.
• Conduct pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analyses to assess lung capacity and gas exchange.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and life-support equipment.
• May be part of a rapid response team, providing airway management, intubation, and resuscitation.
• Assess respiratory status, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans.
• Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned, sterilized, and maintained to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.

Education

State Respiratory Care Practitioner License

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) NBRC

Current BLS (AHA) certification

ACLS certificate within 60 days of hire

NRP certificate within 60 days of hire

PALS certificate within 60 days of hire

Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science

High School Diploma or equivalent

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist,internally referred to as ourRegistered Respiratory Therapist(RRT)or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).The Respiratory Therapist, also known as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP II), plays a crucial role in the care and management of patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. Theyassistpatients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions in achievingoptimalrespiratory function and improving their quality of life.This position is on a per diem basis, meaningPD/PRNas needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all respiratory equipment isproperly cleaned, sterilized, andmaintainedto prevent infections and ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
• 2 years experience as an RCP preferred
• ACLS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
• NRP certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
• PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
