Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services' St Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO seeks a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) for a per diem night shift (6:00pm–6:30am). You will assist patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, provide inhalation therapies and ventilatory support, and participate in rapid response and airway management as needed.

The role requires active state RCP licensure, NBRC certification or eligibility, and BLS/ACLS/PALS credentials; an associate or BS in Respiratory Care

Qualifications

• Must hold a current State RCP license.
• NBRC RRT certification or eligibility within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification at hire; ACLS and PALS as applicable.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program is preferred.
• Degree: Associate or BS in Respiratory Care preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosolized medications.
• Perform pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analyses.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and life-support equipment.
• Contribute to rapid response calls; assist with airway management and resuscitation.
• Assess respiratory status and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of respiratory equipment.

Education

RCP license (State) or equivalent

RRT NBRC certification or eligibility within 3 months

BLS certification (AHA/ARC) upon hire

ACLS certification (AHA/ARC) upon hire

PALS certification (AHA) upon hire or within 60 days

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (preferred)

We are seeking aRespiratory Therapist,internally referred to as ourRegistered Respiratory Therapist(RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).The Respiratory Therapist, also known as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP II), plays a crucial role in the care and management of patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. Theyassistpatients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions in achievingoptimalrespiratory function and improving their quality of life.This position is on a per diem basis, meaningPD/PRNas needed.

Responsibilities

• Willprovide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily
• Conduct tests like pulmonary function testsandarterial blood gas analysisto assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients
• Set up,monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently
• May bepartofarapid response team in emergencies,which you willprovideairway management, perform intubations, and resuscitatepatients in critical situations
• Assess patients' respiratory status,monitortheir progress, andmake adjustments totreatment plans as needed
• Ensure that all respiratory equipment isproperly cleaned, sterilized, andmaintainedto prevent infections and ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.
