Job summary

Prime Healthcare – Providence Medical Center Kansas City, KS is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for per diem shifts. Working 12-hour days from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, you will support patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders and collaborate with the Respiratory Therapy team.

Responsibilities include inhalation and oxygen therapies, pulmonary function tests, ventilator setup and monitoring, and airway management in emergencies.

Qualifications

• State RCP license required.
• Current BLS certification at hire.
• RRT NBRC certification required.
• ACLS, NRP and PALS within 60 days of hire.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol meds.
• Conduct pulmonary function tests and ABG analyses.
• Set up and monitor ventilators and life-support equipment.
• May participate in rapid response, assist airway management.
• Assess respiratory status and adjust treatment plans.
• Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist,internally referred to as ourRegistered Respiratory Therapist(RRT)or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).The Respiratory Therapist, also known as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP II), plays a crucial role in the care and management of patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. Theyassistpatients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions in achievingoptimalrespiratory function and improving their quality of life.This position is on a per diem basis, meaningPD/PRNas needed.

Responsibilities

• Willprovide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily
• Conduct tests like pulmonary function testsandarterial blood gas analysisto assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients
• Set up,monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently
• May bepartofarapid response team in emergencies,which you willprovideairway management, perform intubations, and resuscitatepatients in critical situations
• Assess patients' respiratory status,monitortheir progress, andmake adjustments totreatment plans as needed
• Ensure that all respiratory equipment isproperly cleaned, sterilized, andmaintainedto prevent infections and ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
• 2 years experience as an RCP preferred
• ACLS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
• NRP certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
• PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
