Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (RCP I) for Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. The role is full-time with 12-hour night shifts (6:30pm–7:00am) and involves delivering respiratory care, assessments, and life-support equipment management.

Applicants must hold an RCP license in Kansas, NBRC CRT, BLS, ACLS, and PALS within 60 days of hire, with at least two years acute care experience. Comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Active RCP license in Kansas.
• NBRC CRT certification required. Hired before March 2026, are exempt.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC upon hire and maintained
• ACLS from AHA or ARC within 60 days and maintained
• PALS from AHA within 60 days and maintained
• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred; High School diploma required
• Two years of acute care experience required

Responsibilities

• Provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily
• Perform tests like pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung function
• Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and life-support equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently
• May be part of a rapid response team, providing airway management, intubation, and resuscitation in emergencies
• Assess patients' respiratory status, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned, sterilized, and maintained to ensure patient safety

We are seeking aCertifiedRespiratory Therapist,alsoreferred to as ourRespiratory Care PractitionerI (RCP I).The Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) is someone whocarries out respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as directed by the medical and cardiopulmonary directors, based on physician orders. They focus on assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care while considering the specific needs of patients based on age and population, in the absence of a supervisor.

• Conduct tests like pulmonary function testsandarterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients

• Set up,monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently

• May bepart ofarapid response team in emergencies,which you willprovideairway management, perform intubations, and resuscitatepatients in critical situations

• Assess patients' respiratory status,monitortheir progress, andmake adjustments totreatment plans as needed

• Ensure that all respiratory equipment isproperly cleaned, sterilized, andmaintainedto prevent infections and ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required

• Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required. Hired before March 2026,are exempt

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current

• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current

• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required

• Two (2) years of acute care experience required
