Prime Healthcare is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (RCP I) for St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. This part-time night shift role involves delivering respiratory therapies, monitoring patients, and supporting emergency care as needed.

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner license is required.
• Current NBRC CRT credential is required; those hired before March 2026 are exempt.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC on hire and current.
• ACLS from AHA or ARC within 60 days of hire and current.
• PALS from AHA within 60 days of hire and current.
• Associate or Bachelor degree preferred; HS diploma required.
• Two years of acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications.
• Conduct pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and life-support equipment.
• May be part of rapid response team; airway management, intubations, resuscitation.
• Assess respiratory status and adjust treatment plans.
• Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned, sterilized, and maintained.

We are seeking aCertifiedRespiratory Therapist,alsoreferred to as ourRespiratory Care PractitionerI (RCP I).The Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) is someone whocarries out respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as directed by the medical and cardiopulmonary directors, based on physician orders. They focus on assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care while considering the specific needs of patients based on age and population, in the absence of a supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Willprovide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily

• Conduct tests like pulmonary function testsandarterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients

• Set up,monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently

• May bepart ofarapid response team in emergencies,which you willprovideairway management, perform intubations, and resuscitatepatients in critical situations

• Assess patients' respiratory status,monitortheir progress, andmake adjustments totreatment plans as needed

• Ensure that all respiratory equipment isproperly cleaned, sterilized, andmaintainedto prevent infections and ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.

• Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required. Hired before March 2026,are exempt

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.

• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current.

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current.

• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• Two (2) years of acute care experience required.
