Jefferson Regional Med Ctr is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the Respiratory Therapy Department in Pine Bluff, AR. The role is a 12-hour shift, typically 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., in a full-time capacity supporting patient care.

The RT will assess and treat patients with breathing disorders, administer treatments, and educate families while coordinating with the care team to implement treatment plans. Licensure and BLS/ACLS requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Must hold Arkansas State Medical Board license and NBRC RRT credential.
• BLS required; ACLS within 6 months; PALS/NRP preferred.
• 2+ years hospital experience; 1+ years respiratory therapy preferred.
• Experience in critical care and/or neonatal care preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and collaboratively with the care team.

What You Should Know About the RegisteredRespiratory Therapist:

• This is a 12-hour shift position with typical hours ranging from 7 a.m./p.m.-7 p.m. /a.m.
• This position is based within Jefferson Regional Respiratory Therapy Department

Job Summary:

A registered respiratory therapist assesses and treats patients with breathing disorders, such as but not limited to asthma, emphysema, and pneumonia. They administer respiratory treatments, conduct diagnostic test, and educate patients on breathing techniques and equipment use. Additionally, they collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.

Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Technical diploma in Respiratory Therapy is required. Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy is preferred.
• Graduate for an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program
• Current license with the Arkansas State Medical Board and Registered through the Nation Board of Respiratory Care RRT credential required
• Regulatory Requirements: BLS required upon hire or before patient care, ACLS required within 6 months of hire, PALS/NRP preferred
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team, including but not limited to, physicians, nurses, and other respiratory therapists
• Assess patient needs and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Must be self motivated, have the ability to work independently, maintain a high level of accuracy, and have the ability to handle confidential material
• 2+ years hospital experience preferred
• 1+ years of respiratory therapy experience preferred
• Experience in critical care and/ or neonatal care areas preferred
• Proficiency in various respiratory therapy techniques preferred
• Experience in an acute care setting preferred
