Job summary

The Bronchoscopy Lab – PFT Respiratory Therapist at Jefferson Regional Main Hospital in Pine Bluff, AR, is a full‑time, non‑management role. The therapist oversees bronchoscopy and pulmonary function testing operations, supports diverse procedures, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications include an AMA‑accredited respiratory therapy program, active Arkansas licensure, NBRC registration, and at least 2 years’ experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Respiratory Therapy degree programs preferred.
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist in Arkansas and NBRC registered.
• Minimum 2+ years in respiratory therapy, with critical care exposure.
• ACLS within 6 months; BLS on hire; PALS/NRP preferred.
• Experience with pulmonary function testing and bronchoscopy support is beneficial.
• Must maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and professional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day bronchoscopy lab and pulmonary function testing operations.
• Assist with diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic bronchoscopy procedures.
• Collaborate with pulmonologists, nurses, CRNAs, and cytologists to coordinate care.
• Assess patient needs and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

What You Should Know About the Bronchoscopy Lab- PFT Respiratory Therapist :

• Monday- Friday: Typical hours 6:30- 3:00. No weekends or call.
• This position is based within Jefferson Regional Respiratory Therapy Department

Job Summary:

The Bronchoscopy Lab – PFT respiratory therapist oversees the day-to‑day operations and scheduling of bronchoscopy and pulmonary function testing procedures. They are responsible for assisting in various diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic bronchoscopy procedures as well as performing routine and provocation pulmonary function testing on inpatient and outpatient referrals. Additionally, they work with a multidisciplinary team to include Pulmonologists, nurses, CRNA’s, and cytologists.

Bronchoscopy Lab- PFT Respiratory Therapist Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Technical, Associate, or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Graduate for an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program
• Current license with the Arkansas State Medical Board and Registered through the Nation Board of Respiratory Care
• 2+ years of respiratory therapy experience
• Regulatory Requirements: BLS required upon hire or before patient care, ACLS required within 6 months of hire, PALS/NRP preferred
• Experience in critical care areas
• Experience with Microsoft office
• Must be self-motivated, have the ability to work independently, maintain a high level of accuracy, and have the ability to handle confidential material
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other respiratory therapists.
• Assess patient needs and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Experience performing pulmonary function testing preferred
• Experience assisting with bronchoscopy procedures preferred
