Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, AR, seeks a Part Time Bronchoscopy Lab – PFT Respiratory Therapist to support bronchoscopy and pulmonary function testing within the Respiratory Therapy Department.

The role involves supervising day-to-day operations, scheduling, and performing routine pulmonary function testing for inpatient and outpatient referrals, working with a multidisciplinary team including pulmonologists, nurses, CRNAs, and cytologists.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; technical/associate/bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
• Graduate from an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current Arkansas State Medical Board license and NBRC-registered as Respiratory Therapist.
• 2+ years of respiratory therapy experience; BLS required; ACLS within 6 months; PALS/NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and scheduling of bronchoscopy and pulmonary function testing procedures.
• Assist in diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic bronchoscopy procedures; perform routine and provocation pulmonary function testing.
• Collaborate with pulmonologists, nurses, CRNAs, and cytologists to coordinate patient care.
• Assess patient needs and adjust treatment plans as necessary; maintain accuracy and confidentiality.

What You Should Know About the Bronchoscopy Lab- PFT Respiratory Therapist:

• Monday- Friday: Typical hours 6:30- 3:00. No weekends or call.
• This position is based within Jefferson Regional Respiratory Therapy Department

Job Summary:

The Bronchoscopy Lab – PFT respiratory therapist oversees the day-to-day operations and scheduling of bronchoscopy and pulmonary function testing procedures. They are responsible for assisting in various diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic bronchoscopy procedures as well as performing routine and provocation pulmonary function testing on inpatient and outpatient referrals. Additionally, they work with a multidisciplinary team to include Pulmonologists, nurses, CRNA’s, and cytologists.

Bronchoscopy Lab- PFT Respiratory Therapist Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Technical, Associate, or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Graduate for an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program
• Current license with the Arkansas State Medical Board and Registered through the Nation Board of Respiratory Care
• 2+ years of respiratory therapy experience
• Regulatory Requirements: BLS required upon hire or before patient care, ACLS required within 6 months of hire, PALS/NRP preferred
• Experience in critical care areas
• Experience with Microsoft office
• Must be self-motivated, have the ability to work independently, maintain a high level of accuracy, and have the ability to handle confidential material
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other respiratory therapists.
• Assess patient needs and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Experience performing pulmonary function testing preferred
• Experience assisting with bronchoscopy procedures preferred
