Job summary

Deborah is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary disorders in an acute care setting. Under clinical direction, you will perform diagnostics, therapies, monitoring and rehabilitation while contributing to care plans with physicians and the health team.

The role involves teaching patients and families, participating in research or resident education, and precepting students or new orientees as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of critical care experience.
• NJ Respiratory Care Practitioner License required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential by NBRC required.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care services to patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Perform diagnostic testing, therapies, monitoring and rehabilitation.
• Contribute to patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and health team.
• Participate in education for patients, families, and trainees.

Job description

Position Summary

Provides respiratory care services to patients with disorders of the cardiopulmonary system. Under qualified medical direction, performs diagnostic testing, therapeutics, monitoring, and rehabilitation. Participates in the development of patient’s appropriate plans of care in conjunction with physicians and other members of the health care team. Partakes in research projects, preceptor for students and new orientees; conducts patient and family education activities.

Experience

1-3 years critical care experience.

Education

Graduate of approved Respiratory Program, completed 62 semester hours of college credit; Bachelor’s Degree desirable.

Required License / Credentials

• New Jersey Respiratory Care Practitioner License
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• PALS, Perinatal / Pediatric Specialty desirable

Other Required Skills

Strong computer skills: Windows, Microsoft Word, Meditech.

Compensation

The minimum starting rate for this position is $50.00.
