Job summary

Saint Peter's Healthcare System is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner Per Diem to support the Respiratory Therapy team. The role involves conducting diagnostic tests and therapies appropriate to patients across age groups, initiating and maintaining mechanical ventilation, and responding to emergent care needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA-approved 1-year Respiratory Therapy program.
• Licensed by the NJ Board of Respiratory Care as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and NBRC-Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Demonstrated competency in all procedures within scope of practice for the ages served; ability to interpret information for patient needs.
• Competency in care for Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric groups.
• BLS Certification required, per American Heart Association.
• PALS obtained within 30 days of start; NRP certification for NICU assignments when required.

Respiratory Care Practitioner Per Diem

Respiratory Therapy

The Respiratory Care Practitioner Per Diem will:

• Perform diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures as appropriate to the ages of the patient's growth and development through the life cycle factors.
• Initiate and maintain mechanical ventilation.
• Respond to emergent patient care.

Requirements

• Graduate of an AMA-approved one (1) year Program in Respiratory Therapy.
• Licensed by the State of New Jersey Board of Respiratory Care as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Demonstrated competency in all procedures within scope of practice, as appropriate to the ages of the patients served; the ability to obtain information and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs; a knowledge of growth and development and an understanding of the range of treatment needed by these patients.
• Demonstrated competency in the care and treatment of the following age groups: Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric.
• BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) obtained within 30 days of start date. Registered Respiratory Care Practitioners trained and assigned to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit on a regular basis is required to obtain the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.

We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
