Job summary

Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY seeks a Registered Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging using radiographic equipment, ensure high quality images, and maintain safety standards. You will prepare patients, position them for procedures, and communicate clearly with staff.

Candidates must hold a state radiography license (RO) and ARRT-R; or ROT with ARRT-R before expiration. Preferred is one year of general radiography experience.

• ROT (Temp State Radiography License) and Must obtain ARRT-R prior to ROT expiration

Job description

Responsibilities

The Registered Radiology Technologist utilizes imaging, computer and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high quality diagnostic images which meet or exceed department, organizational and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality. Applying professional knowledge, prepares patients for the procedure, educates and responds to questions or concerns. Ensures age appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education and principles of physical/functional growth and development. Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.
