Job summary

Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY is seeking a Registered Radiology Technologist to produce high-quality diagnostic images and educate patients. You will prepare patients, ensure safety and age-appropriate communication, and oversee student training during procedures.

Responsibilities include applying professional radiographic knowledge, maintaining image quality, and following infection control and quality assurance practices as part of a learning environment.

Qualifications

• RO (State Radiography License) and ARRT-R required.
• ROT (Temp State Radiography License) and ARRT-R must be obtained prior to ROT expiration.
• One year in general radiography (desirable).

Responsibilities

The Registered Radiology Technologist utilizes imaging, computer and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high quality diagnostic images which meet or exceed department, organizational and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, as well as image quality. Applying professional knowledge, prepares patients for the procedure, educates and responds to questions or concerns. Ensures age appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education and principles of physical/functional growth and development. Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.
