Job summary

Apex Home Health, Hospice & Home Care is seeking a Sleep Technician to conduct diagnostic sleep studies, including polysomnography, titration, MSLT, HST, and MWT, to support diagnosis and treatment of sleep/wake disorders. You will document procedures, educate patients on therapies, maintain equipment, and participate in data analysis.

Relevant credentials and BLS are required; RPSGT or Sleep Disorder Specialty credential within two years is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or related field preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in Sleep Disorders field preferred.
• Knowledge of sleep disorders, electrical safety, and proficiency with computer documentation.
• For RRTs, must obtain RPSGT or Sleep Disorder Specialty credential within two years or be enrolled in accredited training programs.
• Must hold or acquire BLS certification within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs sleep testing procedures and neurodiagnostic assessments as needed.
• Records accurate data for physicians and educates patients on prescribed therapies.
• Monitors and documents procedures in medical records, adhering to standards such as those from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
• Maintains technical equipment, troubleshooting as necessary, and understands equipment functions and safety protocols.
• Supervises students or staff providing patient care when required.
• Participates in scoring and data analysis of sleep studies based on department needs.

Education
