Join us as a full-time Registered Sleep Technologist/Polysomnographic Tech in our goal-oriented office, where staff understand expectations and work together as a team. Our lab differs from others because our techs perform all scoring overnight and produce completed studies in the morning. This is a 3–12 hour night shift position with a patient ratio of 2:1.

Position Summary
This role involves independently performing prescribed diagnostic sleep studies, including home sleep tests, and analyzing results to assist clinicians in diagnosis, treatment, and patient care. The technologist acts as a resource within the department.

Core Functions

  1. Obtain artifact-free sleep tracings reflecting physiologic sleep processes using the latest technology.
  2. Analyze all types of sleep records, identify and document sleep stages, and quantify physiologic data during acquisition, following departmental policies.
  3. Ensure accurate, readable recordings by troubleshooting and making adjustments during testing.
  4. Review pertinent medical history, medications, and other relevant information to perform prescribed studies.
  5. Assist in developing departmental policies and procedures, facilitate testing, and maintain quality standards.
  6. Support leadership with operations, scheduling, onboarding, and training of new staff. May lead educational sessions and case studies.
  7. Maintain quality assurance standards in accordance with regulatory agencies.
  8. Perform diagnostic sleep monitoring independently, including home sleep tests, and serve as a resource to the department.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, registry by the Board of Polysomnographic Technologists or passing the NBRC as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Typically requires 3 years of experience in sleep disorder testing, proficiency with sleep testing equipment, understanding of sleep/wake cycles and pathologies, EEG theory related to sleep, and cardiopulmonary physiology during sleep. Critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication skills are essential.
