Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.

  • RN-Registered Nurse license through DORA required.
  • BLS certification (CPR) through AHA required.
  • ACLS certification through AHA required.
  • CNOR preferred.
  • Adherence to ANA standards of professional nursing practice and accrediting body standards.
  • Strong customer service principles and ability to promote patient-centric care.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary staff and leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHR/Epic documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing initial training, future training, and care team development programs.

  • Lead the department's orientation program with evidence-based practices.
  • Provide direct patient care to support staffing and operations as needed.
  • Facilitate learning environments for cognitive, affective, and psychomotor outcomes.
  • Develop competency outcomes and curricula reflecting educational needs.
  • Teach courses and train licensed and unlicensed personnel.
  • Develop, maintain, and revise learning modules and lesson plans.
  • Assess and evaluate knowledge and competencies using varied strategies.
  • Contribute to policy development through research and analysis.
  • Incorporate evidence-based research into education plans and nursing practices.
  • Promote critical thinking and lifelong learning.
  • Mentor nurses and identify education opportunities.
  • Pursue continuous quality improvement and patient safety.
  • Evaluate practice against standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in developing and implementing initial training, future training, and care team development programs

  • Conduct ongoing education for assigned teams

  • Assure and document professional nurse and unlicensed personnel competency at least annually

  • Lead the department's evidence-based orientation program

Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required

  • 4–6 years of direct patient care nursing experience required

  • 2–5 years of operating room experience required

  • RN-Registered Nurse license through DORA required

  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification through the American Heart Association required

  • ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification through the American Heart Association required

  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) preferred

  • Adherence to ANA standards of professional nursing practice and accrediting body standards

  • Strong understanding and display of customer service principles

  • Ability to promote quality patient-centric care and maintain patient satisfaction

  • Ability to work effectively in a team matrix environment

  • Clear and effective communication at all levels and in cross-functional environments

  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, charge nurses, clinical nurse educators, nursing managers, providers, and executive leadership

  • Understanding of assessment findings as they relate to disease processes and the continuum of care

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Proficiency with EHR or Epic documentation

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test for safety-sensitive positions after a conditional offer
