Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced nursing leader to oversee administration, staff coordination, and patient flow across units. The role involves safeguarding compliance with nursing laws and internal policies while guiding teams through complex care scenarios.

The position requires BSN, RN licensure, and leadership experience, with emphasis on communication, problem-solving, and resource management to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• BSN required.
• RN candidates must enroll in BSN within 1 year of hire and complete within 3 years.
• BLS certification required.
• CPI certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Professional certification (clinical or leadership) within 1 year of eligibility.
• Must speak and understand English fluently.
• Ability to lift and support 35 pounds.
• Two years nursing experience preferred.
• Previous management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate administrative problems and actions taken to nurse leaders, the Administrator-On-Call, and appropriate senior administrative leaders.
• Round on all units to assess efficiency, productivity, patient care, teammate and physician satisfaction, and appropriateness of care.
• Guide staff regarding state and federal healthcare laws, the Nursing Practice Act, and company policies and procedures.
• Coordinate shift communication through huddles, rounds, and meetings.
• Assist with utilization of resources to meet patient care needs.
• Supervise nursing personnel, identify problems, initiate corrective action, and document actions and investigations.
• Advise and assist nurses with new or unusual treatments and medications.
• Interpret policies and procedures for teammates, patients, families, and visitors.
• Respond to and assist with emergencies.
• Coordinate patient flow and throughput, including admissions, transfers, patient placement, and discharges.
• Monitor staffing for current and upcoming shifts using Float Pool and PRN personnel or reallocating personnel as needed.

Requirements

• RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of hire/transfer date and complete the program within 3 years of enrollment


• BLS required per policy guidelines


• CPI certification required within 90 days of hire date


• Appropriate professional certification (clinical or leadership) required within 1 year of eligibility for the professional certification exam


• Must speak and understand English fluently


• Must be able to lift and support 35 pounds


• Two years nursing experience preferred


• Previous management experience preferred
