Three Rivers Behavioral Health is a 136-bed behavioral health facility located in West Columbia, SC. The Weekend Intake RN serves as the first contact for referrals, assessing clients and arranging admissions or referrals to appropriate services within our inpatient and outpatient continuum.

The role requires RN licensure in South Carolina, expertise in crisis intervention, and strong communication skills to coordinate with referral sources and healthcare teams.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelors in Nursing and current SC RN License.
• Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric patient population.

Responsibilities

• Assess and complete intake assessments for referrals and admissions.
• Assist clients in admission or referral to appropriate services.
• Document findings, recommendations and outcomes; triage and data entry.

The Weekend Intake Counselor RN serves as the first point of contact for referral sources and potential patients to schedule assessments and/or admissions. Thoroughly assesses and completes the assessment tool for all clients as required by Three Rivers Behavioral Health. Assist clients in being admitted or referred out to the service or resource to best address their needs. Documenting findings, recommendations and outcome. Triage, insurance precertification, computer entry and data analysis & clinical documentation.

The Weekend Shift is Friday 1pm - 9:30pm; Saturday 9am - 9:30pm and Sunday 9am - 9:30pm.

Hourly Shift Differentials:

• Weekday 2nd shift$6.25
• Weekday 3rd shift $7.00
• Weekend 1st shift$8.00
• Weekend 2nd shift$9.00
• Weekend 3rd shift $10.00

Qualifications

Job Requirements

• Associate or Bachelors in Nursing and current SC RN License.
• Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
• Prefer knowledge of hospital admission functions, psychological assessment and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.
• Understanding of EMTALA guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and third-party payer knowledge preferred.
• Ability to handle interruptions often and be able to move from one task to another; must be flexible and not easily frustrated in dealing with differences of opinion.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills; Detail oriented & strong computer skills
• Must be able to exercise self-control in potentially volatile situations, such as being verbally or physically confronted in a threatening or aggressive manner
• Must be able to work and concentrate amidst distractions, such as noise, conversation, and foot traffic
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
