Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking an Intake RN to perform telephonic and in-person risk assessments and coordinate intake for potential patients. You will be the first contact with referral sources, guiding care level decisions and facilitating admissions while communicating with families and unit staff.

You will work with the Business Office on financial data, verification, and insurance prior authorizations, and collaborate with the UR Department for certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; RN license required.
• 2–3 years in substance abuse/psychiatric settings; intake/admissions experience.
• Missouri State Board of Nursing licensure required.
• CPR certification and de-escalation training within 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

The Intake RN, under the supervision of the Intake Director, provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment to assist the physician in identification of appropriate level of care for potential patients. The Intake RN is the initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff. The Intake RN works with the Business Office regarding patient financial data and verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed, as well as with the UR Department for the certification of patients admitted.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience: 2-3 years in substance abuse/psychiatric treatment programs, including experience in intake/admissions and managed care preferred.
Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
Additional Requirements: CPR certification, Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation training within 30 days of employment prior to assisting in a restraining procedure. Must be able to pass a competency exam for the area upon hire. May be required to work flexible hours, weekends, and overtime.
