Job summary

Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a Hospice RN to join the Empath team for a weekend shift. The role offers care focused on comfort, dignity, and quality of life for terminally ill patients and their families in Pinellas County.

Shift is Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM. Suncoast Hospice has served the community since 1977 and is part of the Empath Health network providing Full Life Care across Florida.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse.
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License.
• CPR certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Prefer one (1) year experience in an acute or post-acute care setting.
• Preferred experience caring for terminal patients.
• Field-based positions require reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Under physician’s orders, identify and coordinate patient/family needs and provide preventative and supportive care to terminally ill patient/family unit.
• Utilize assessment, intervention and teaching to maximize patient comfort and quality of life.
• Administer, monitor and document medications as prescribed by attending physician.
• Assist with closure contact and support after a patient’s death in collaboration with IDT.

What you’ll Do

• Under physician’s orders, the nurse is responsible for identifying and coordinating patient/family needs and for providing preventative and supportive care to the terminally ill patient/family unit.

• Demonstrates the ability to administer, monitor and document medications as prescribed by attending physician.

What You’ll Need
