Job summary

Caris HealthCare is seeking a Week Night On-Call Registered Nurse (RN) in Chattanooga, TN for hospice care. The role involves after-hours and weekend patient visits, nursing care per physician orders, and comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of total patient care.

Offering a $4,000 sign-on bonus and a competitive annual pay range of $70,000—$75,000 depending on experience. Must be licensed as a RN in the state of operation; hospice/home health experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the state of operation.
• Nursing experience required, with hospice or home health preferred.
• Must posses a sound knowledge of nursing principles and patient/family teaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per physician orders.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate total patient care for each patient.
• Be available for after-hours and weekend calls, and visit patients as needed.
• Perform patient visits during scheduled on-call hours and respond to phone triage when required.

Position: Week Night On-Call Registered Nurse, RN

Pay: $70,000 - $75,000 / yearly Depending on Experience

The Caris On Call Registered Nurse is normally scheduled to work on weekends and/or “after hours” on week days. The On Call RN is responsible for the nursing care of patients according to the physician's orders. The On Call RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating total patient care and nursing care plans for each patient.

Responsibilities

The On Call RN is scheduled to make patient visits each week. The On Call RN may be able to resolve some issues by phone. However, many “after hours” and/or weekend phone calls will require the On Call RN to make a visit.

The On Call RN agrees to be available for work-related phone calls throughout the scheduled “after hours” and/or weekend work hours. Work related phone calls should be accepted by the On Call RN without allowing it to go to voice mail; unless the On Call RN is assisting a patient or on a phone call with a patient/family.

Qualifications

Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the state of operation.

Nursing experience required, with experience in Hospice or Home Health preferred.

Must posses a sound knowledge of nursing principles, procedures and elements of patient family teaching.
