Qualifications

  • Active RN license and ongoing clinical competency.

Job description

Overview

Part and full-time roles are eligible for a $30,000 sign‑on bonus. Relocation incentives are available for qualifying candidates. This position is referral eligible and currently qualifies for a new hourly wage differential in addition to standard shift and holiday differentials.

Shift: Part Time (days & nights available). Hospital: University Hospital. The Surgical Progressive Care Unit stands as a beacon of excellence and innovation in surgical services. We support a wide range of specialized surgeries, including thoracic, general, otolaryngology, and urology procedures.

Surgeries We Support
  • Thoracic Surgery: Esophagectomy, Lung Resection
  • General Surgery: Whipple Procedure, Distal Pancreatectomy and Splenectomy, Liver Resection, Bowel Resection
  • Otolaryngology: Glossectomy, Mandibulectomy, Thyroidectomy, Neck Dissection
  • Urology Surgeries: Cystectomy, Retroperitoneal Lymph Node Dissection

These procedures require expert post‑operative care, and our team is trained and equipped to manage the complexities involved. We specialize in managing high‑acuity progressive care patients with intricate post‑surgical needs, ensuring safety, positive outcomes, and teamwork at every step.

Qualifications
  • Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • RN must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Exceptions: Candidates without a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
  • Basic Life Support certification through the AHA required. Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
