Job summary

Indiana University Health in Bloomington is seeking passionate registered nurses to join our Surgical Services team in the Bloomington Hospital OR. This pipeline provides opportunities for upcoming and recent RN graduates to train and grow, with a 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM shift and a $30,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

Our OR handles cardiovascular, gynecological, orthopedic, laparoscopic and DaVinci procedures.

Qualifications

  • ASN or BSN preferred.
  • Active RN license in Indiana or NLC.
  • Basic Life Support certification required; other advanced Life Support may be required per unit.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in the Surgical Services unit.
  • Support learning of scrub skills for OR Nurses.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Part and Full-time roles are eligible for a $30,000 sign-on bonus —

Shift: This role will work a 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM shift. There is minimal on-call, however, team members must be able to respond to on-call notice and be at the Bloomington facility within 30-minutes.

This Surgical Services unit functions within Bloomington Hospital, where we have 14 operating rooms and 2 open heart room. Our Surgical Services team members perform a variety of services, including cardiovascular, gynecological, orthopedic, laparoscopic, and DaVinci procedures.

Nurses new to the OR will be given the opportunity to learn to scrub, which is a great benefit for those that desire to expand their career within the OR. If you are willing to work hard, are self-motivated and desire to work in a positive atmosphere, this is the right team for you! We are looking for someone that is a team player, who can work for the betterment of the whole team in the OR.

Qualifications
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
    • Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
