New York State Department of Health Veterans Home at St. Albans is seeking a Registered Nurse Supervisor I to provide administrative and clinical supervision of nursing staff in resident units.

The role directs nursing services, conducts performance evaluations, and develops staffing plans to ensure adequate coverage. The incumbent will supervise training, interviews, orientation, and recruitment; manage admissions/discharges and liaise with community providers.

Qualifikationen

• Possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
• Two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
• A master’s degree in nursing may substitute for one year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience; a doctorate in nursing may substitute for two years.

Aufgaben

• Provide administrative and clinical supervision to nursing staff.
• Develop assignments and daily staffing plans; prepare and monitor staffing schedules.
• Identify staff development needs and arrange training on clinical topics.
• Interview nursing candidates and participate in orientation and recruitment processes.
• Oversee admission and discharge planning; liaison to community providers and hospitals.
• Make rounds to ensure safe, sanitary, and therapeutic environment; enforce policies and procedures.
• Monitor nursing documentation for accuracy and quality; resolve discrepancies.
• Oversee narcotics tracking and medical inventories; ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Participate in management and administration of nursing services; assist in budgeting and committee work.
