Job summary

Topaz Fiscal Services is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor to lead and mentor nursing staff in our community facility. In this full-time role, you will monitor patient progress, coordinate care, and ensure high standards of clinical practice during the 6am–2pm shift.

Responsibilities include supervising CNAs and PCAs, administering medications, documenting care, and communicating with families. You will participate in inspections, discharge planning, and performance evaluations, all

Responsibilities

• Review, communicate and contribute to the day-to-day functions of the Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and Personal Care Attendants (PCA)
• Provide medications by mouth, subcutaneous or intramuscular injections as ordered
• Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift for continuity of care
• Communicate with family members of residents as needed in the event of receiving new orders, a change in condition or a simple check-in to ensure the resident is safe, well, and content
• Participate and shine in center surveys (inspections)
• Assist in planning the nursing services portion of the resident’s discharge plans
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents
• Complete accident/incident reports as necessary
• Chart in electronic files using Point Click Care in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided as well as residents' responses to care
• Receive telephone orders from physicians on duty
• Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary
• Ensure that narcotics are handled in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Participate in associate performance evaluations and make recommendations to the Nurse Supervisor
• Develop work assignments
• Make daily rounds of your unit/shift to ensure resident safety is a Top Priority
• Meet with the nursing personnel on your shift a regularly to improve services
• Administer professional services such as catheterizations, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, etc
• Attend and participate in all center in-service programs as required
