Job description

As a Registered Nurse Supervisor with the Department of Human Services (DHS), you will lead a skilled nursing team that delivers dependable, resident-focused care at the South Mountain Restoration Center. This position provides daily leadership that supports strong nursing practices, effective communication, and safe resident care across multiple care areas. As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

• Team Leadership: Offer guidance to nursing staff, support collaboration across shifts, and promote teamwork
• Clinical Oversight: Review all phases of nursing service, advocate for residents, and direct the delivery of resident care in multiple areas
• Resident Safety: Ensure a safe therapeutic environment for residents and staff through consistent monitoring and communication
• Staff Development: Provide orientation, training, and support for professional and non-professional nursing personnel
• Documentation Management: Maintain records, prepare reports, fulfill Minimum Data Set (MDS) requirements, and complete employee evaluations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM), with a 30-minute lunch. You will work rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.

Special Requirements:

• You must possess active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
