Job summary

Wallowa Memorial Hospital is seeking an RN Supervisor to oversee nursing care across departments, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered outcomes. The role includes planning, implementation and evaluation of care plans, while adhering to Oregon nursing standards.

The ideal candidate will provide clinical guidance to RNs, CNAs and ED/OB staff, demonstrating strong leadership, judgment, and collaborative teamwork to support continuity of care within a nationally recognized facility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Oregon RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of five (5) years of acute care nursing experience.
• ER and/or OB experience required or competency within six months.
• Prior charge nurse or supervisory experience preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS/PALS/TNCC preferred.
• Proficiency in nursing practice per Oregon Nurse Practice Act.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision-making.
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
• EHR and clinical systems proficiency.
• Ability to provide patient-centered care across diverse populations.
• Must pass background, drug screen and references.

JOB SUMMARY:

The RN Supervisor is a leadership role responsible for the oversight and coordination of nursing care within the hospital setting, ensuring safe, high-quality and patient-centered care is delivered across departments. This role includes the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care plans and outcomes, while maintaining compliance with all standards of nursing practice as legislated by the State of Oregon.

The RN Supervisor provides clinical guidance and operational support to nursing staff, including RNs, CNAs, PCTs, ED Technicians, and other patient care personnel. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical expertise in medical-surgical care and is capable of supporting both emergency and obstetric units.

This individual must demonstrate sound clinical judgment, strong leadership skills and a commitment to fostering a collaborative, team-based environment.

Registered Nurse Supervisor - Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
• Current Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum of five (5) years of acute care nursing experience required
• Medical-Surgical nursing experience required
• Emergency Room (ER) and/or Obstetrics (OB) experience required, or the ability to orient and complete competency requirements within six (6) months of hire
• Prior charge nurse or supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification required
• ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency in nursing practice in accordance with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication, team leadership and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and other computer systems used in clinical settings
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care across diverse populations
• Ability to meet the physical and functional requirements outlined in the job description
