Job summary

SoftPath Medical seeks a Travel RN for the 5S Trauma Stepdown (IMC/PCU) role in a Level 1 Trauma Center. Shift is 3x12 or 4x12 nights, 7P–7A, weekdays with every other weekend and float option. Ideal candidates bring trauma/SDU experience and can float within scope to meet unit needs.

Permanent return-to-office restrictions apply; flu and fit tests requested. Travel radius up to 100 miles; RN license must be state or compact. Travel perks include free parking for travelers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; 1 year in specialty required.
• First-time travelers accepted if experienced in ICU or Trauma.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Fit Test, CPI (CPI can be completed through Qualivis), TNCC preferred.
• RN license: State or Compact license required; pending RN license submissions accepted.
• 36 hours guaranteed.

5S Trauma Stepdown (IMC/PCU) RN

Shift Details

3x12 or 4x12 NIGHTS 7P-7A, weekdays, every other weekend, float option

• Manager may call traveler off once per 2-week pay period if necessary
• Limit holiday return-to-office requests to no more than one of the three major holidays

Unit Description

25 Floor Beds, 6 Step-Down Beds, 6 Pediatric Beds.

A multidisciplinary team provides nursing care to multi-system-injured trauma and surgical patients.

The six-bed intermediate care stepdown unit offers an intermediate level of care.

Ideal candidates have experience in PCU, IMC, Trauma, or SDU.

Travelers are not required to care for pediatric patients.

There may be opportunities to work exclusively on floor beds; this will be discussed during the interview.

Patient Ratios

Floor RN: 1:5

Step-Down Unit RN: 1:3

Held every other week on Thursday

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; 1 year in specialty required
• First-time travelers accepted if experienced in ICU or Trauma
• Contract options: 36 or 48 hours
• Every other weekend required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Fit Test, CPI (CPI can be completed through Qualivis), TNCC preferred
• Skills: IV start, ventilator management, telemetry, Level 1 trauma experience, conscious sedation
• Clinicians may be floated within their scope to meet facility needs
• Open to accommodating blocked schedule requests
• Travel radius: 100 miles (75-99 miles subject to facility approval)
• RN license: State or Compact license required; pending RN license submissions accepted
• 36 hours guaranteed

Submission Requirements

Permanent employees cannot return as travelers for 2 years after last permanent day worked

Flu shot required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medically exempt with documentation; not required outside this period

COVID-19 vaccine not required

All candidates must complete a fit test in advance using approved masks

Agencies are responsible for coordinating and scheduling fit tests, exploring all available options

Candidates may need to travel up to 100 miles to complete the fit test
