Job summary

Mile Bluff Medical Center in Mauston, WI is seeking an Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time role at Mile Bluff Clinic. The position supports coordinated patient care with providers, handles patient communications, and manages prior authorization needs in a busy clinical setting.

Ideal candidates hold a Wisconsin RN license, BLS, and preferably ACLS. Prior orthopedic or procedural nursing experience is a plus.

Location: Mile Bluff Clinic - Mauston, WI

Schedule: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; between 7:00am - 4:30pm, Monday- Friday

Weekend Requirement: No Weekend

Holiday Requirement: Paid Holidays

Position Summary:

The Orthopedic RN position is an important role that requires accuracy, attention to detail, and a passion for providing exceptional healthcare.

Position Responsibilities:

• Coordinating patient care with other procedural staff.
• Respond to patient phone calls, patient messages, and collaborate with providers to deliver the best care possible.
• Coordinate and collaborate with the providers with prior authorization needs.
• Rooming, vital signs, gathering histories, educating patients and coordinating with providers as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Position Requirements:

• Two-year degree in nursing required. Four-year degree preferred.
• Must hold and maintain Wisconsin Registered Nursing license.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Intermediate proficiency with computers is required
• Comprehensive nursing skills and knowledge of equipment such as retinal scanners, EKG, etc.
• Knowledge and experience documenting patient care in electronic medical records.
• Thorough understanding of triage.
• Understanding of lab procedures and equipment.
• Strong quantitative and analytical competency.
• Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
