Job summary

Ascension Health in Nashville, TN is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join the Surgical ICU/ICU Stepdown team on weekends in a part-time role.

You will coordinate patient care, implement treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians and the health‑care team to ensure safe discharge planning and smooth transitions. Minimum licensure in Tennessee; ACLS/BLS within required timelines; 6+ months acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire or transfer date (AHA/Red Cross accepted).
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire or transfer date (AHA/Red Cross accepted).
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or multi-state license (Compact) prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care plans and monitor patient conditions.
• Serve as primary coordinator for multi-disciplinary care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient conditions as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the health‑care team.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire
