Job Responsibilities

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital part of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for ensuring high-quality nursing care. The RN manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with all team members, including ancillary and support services. The RN's role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision.

Key Duties include:

• Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers
• Delegating, assessing, providing, and evaluating patient care
• Providing and delegating patient care activities to team members
• Monitoring patient progress and preparing patients for discharge
• Reporting directly to senior unit management and participating in shared decision-making activities

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN preferred
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Michigan required
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
