Resolute Baptist Hospital in Texas seeks a Registered Nurse specialized in wound care to assess and manage wounds, educate patients, and support healing within a collaborative care team.

The role emphasizes developing evidence-based wound care plans, coordinating with physicians, and ensuring safety and adherence to clinical standards. Texas RN license and CWON certification are required, with a BLS on hire and AHA BLS within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Active Texas State License for RN; CWON certification required.
• BLS provider certification on hire; AHA BLS within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience in wound care.
• WOCN or enterostomal therapy education preferred.
• Completion of a U.S.-based WOCN-accredited program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, and document patients' wounds and skin integrity.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized wound care treatment plans.
• Perform wound care treatments, dressing changes, and other specialized nursing interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote healing.
• Educate patients and families on wound care management, prevention, and follow-up care.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
• Promote infection prevention, patient safety, and compliance with hospital policies.

• MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years clinical nursing practice. Demonstrated competency in area of expertise.
• PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 2 years related experience
• REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse; Board certification as a Certified Wound and Ostomy Nurse (CWON).
• PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Completion of a U.S.-based Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (WOCN)-accredited WOC or Enterostomal Therapy Nursing Education Program.
• REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
