Qualifications

• MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• PREFERRED EDUCATION :
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : 2 years clinical nursing practice. Demonstrated competency in area of expertise.
• PREFERRED EXPERIENCE : Prior teaching experience
• REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE : Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
• PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Based on Specialty
• Certificate in clinical specialty
• Certificate as a Diabetes Educator by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE)
• preferred on hiring and required within two years of hire.
• Certificate in Child Birth Education
• Certificate in Wound, Ostomy and Continence
• REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):
• Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have
• AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
