Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Rehabilitation Hospital in Nashville, TN is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse specialized in wound care to join our team.

In this full-time position, you will assess wounds, implement care plans, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the care team to support rehabilitation goals. Must have 2+ years wound care experience and RN licensure; ACLS/WOCN preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent wound care experience.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• BCLS required; ACLS preferred; WOCN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform wound care assessments and interventions.
• Evaluate progress and adjust care plans as needed.
• Educate patients and families on wound care and discharge instructions.

What We're Looking For

The Wound Care Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering specialized wound care services, including patient assessment, direct care, clinical staff education, and family instruction to ensure effective treatment outcomes and support rehabilitation goals.

Essential Functions

• Perform patient assessments to identify wound care needs and appropriate interventions.
• Evaluate patient progress and wound healing outcomes, adjusting care plans as needed.
• Initiate and implement nursing interventions tailored to the patient's condition.
• Provide direct wound care based on patient condition and age-specific needs.
• Educate patients and families on wound care procedures, prevention strategies, and discharge instructions.
• Provide clinical staff education related to wound care treatment plans, procedures, and best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Must be able to collaborate across disciplines to ensure continuity of care.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of an accredited Wound Ostomy Care Nurse program.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in wound care required.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required; ACLS preferred; WOCN certification preferred.
