Job summary

Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, KY is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in Women\'s Services for Night shift (3x12, 7p-7a). This full-time role includes a sign-on bonus based on eligibility and a mission-driven team dedicated to Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Women\'s Health Surgical Services, and the Newborn Nursery.

Qualifications

• Active Kentucky RN License required.
• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• BLS certification required within one month from hire date.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments and other medical care.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, elimination and nutrition.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines including transfer, discharge, referral and psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient/family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition.
• Acts as advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

The Women's Health Department provides comprehensive patient care across multiple specialty areas, including Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Women's Health Surgical Services, and the Newborn Nursery. The department delivers direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, and in alignment with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we're looking for

Active Kentucky RN License Required (single state or compact). If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.

Education:

• Associate's degree required
• Bachelor's degree preferred

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required one month from hire date
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire
