Job summary

Lifepoint Health® in Athens, Tennessee, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Float Pool. The RN will perform patient assessments, establish care plans, and coordinate multidisciplinary care for patients. Additional responsibilities include administering medications, providing education, and advocating for patient well-being.

This role requires current Tennessee RN licensure, Basic Life Support certification at hire, and ACLS and PALS certifications within six months. Lifepoint is committed to employee well-being with programs for mental, physical, and financial health.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee Registered Nurse license is required.
• Basic Life Support certification required at time of hire.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• PALS required within 6 months of hire.

How You'll Contribute

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition.
• Establishes a plan of care that is appropriate to the problems identified and involves the patient according to their capabilities and desires.
• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired outcomes.
• Performs role-specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performing admissions and/or discharges, and coordinating transfers.
• Responds to complaints about patient care and related services, and manages through established channels.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Qualifications
